LES HEURES BLANCHES

Œuvre en cinq mouvements

Les Heures Blanches is a body of work structured in five movements and developed through painting, drawing, installation, and the artist’s book.

Each movement originates from a fictional narrative addressing a distinct form of violence. Figures, animals, objects, and fragments of landscape recur across the work, shifting between narrative function and autonomous image.

The project does not illustrate these accounts. It uses them as a framework through which images are repeated, displaced, altered, and withheld. Meaning remains provisional, produced through the relations between individual works rather than contained within them.

Across the five movements, Les Heures Blanches considers what remains visible when an experience cannot be represented directly.

MOUVEMENT I

The first movement addresses physical violence through the relation between vulnerability, exposure, and disappearance. The landscape functions simultaneously as a place of refuge and concealment.

MOUVEMENT II

The second movement considers psychological violence as a gradual alteration of perception. Instability is introduced through repetition, uncertainty, and the displacement of familiar points of reference.

MOUVEMENT III

The third movement examines control and dependency through the progressive restriction of individual space. What initially appears protective becomes a structure of containment.

MOUVEMENT IV

The fourth movement approaches violence through transmission. Gestures, behaviours, and forms of silence persist across generations, often detached from their original circumstances.

MOUVEMENT V

The fifth movement considers what remains after violence has occurred. Rather than proposing resolution, it addresses the possibility of recognition, distance, and the reconstruction of individual space.
