Conditions of Presence is an ongoing body of work centred on the representation of the human figure. The project considers the body not as a fixed subject, but as a site in which presence is constructed, altered, and withheld.

Figures emerge through shifts in surface, gesture, and material. Their boundaries remain unstable, moving between exposure and concealment, recognition and dissolution. Rather than establishing individual identities or narratives, the works retain the figure as an unresolved visual condition.

Across the series, painting becomes a means of testing how little information is required for a body to remain present.

Conditions of Presence examines the point at which representation persists without becoming definitive.
